A Full-Cycle Development of Mobile Ad Network Completed in 18 Months

Background:

The company specializes in advertisement technology providing solutions for publishers and advertisers, including Supply Side Platform (SSP), Demand-Side Platform (DSP), Video platform, etc.

The client was in search of an all-encompassing solution for the development of a Mobile Ad Network application for their already existing and thriving web platform. The company required full-cycle development, starting from conceptualization and architectural design to deployment. Subsequently, they decided to engage a remote team for ongoing maintenance and support.

Task:

To create a cross-platform mobile application built upon the foundation of the existing web platform. Main idea: user-friendly solution seamlessly compatible with the web version.

Developing the Application: Our team of software development engineers and programmers have thoroughly analyzed the requirements and created an intelligent, simple-in-use, innovative solution with extensive functionality. Commencing with the development of the application’s architecture, we seamlessly transitioned to programming functions, ensuring comprehensive QA testing to guarantee the swift and proper functioning of each feature.

How the Work Was Organized: The work was segmented into milestones and efficiently managed using Jira. Weekly meetings with clients allowed us to review completed tasks and outline plans for the following week. After each milestone, we presented a comprehensive document detailing our achievements and plans for the next phase. In total, the app development process spanned 18 months, progressing from concept to a fully prepared application ready for launch.

And The App Was Born!: As a result, the created application offers customers a comprehensive dashboard where they can efficiently manage their advertisements and/or revenues. The platform provides functionalities for overseeing general ad operations, controlling campaign analytics reports, and much more. The following is a list of functions that have been developed within the app:

  • Ad Campaign Management: Enable users to efficiently create, monitor, and manage ad campaigns.
  • Targeting Options: Provide diverse targeting options, such as demographics, location, interests, and behavior, to reach specific audiences.
  • Ad Inventory Management: Allow users to manage and organize their available ad space, optimizing inventory for maximum revenue.
  • Real-time Analytics: Offer robust analytics tools to track and analyze ad performance in real-time, including impressions, clicks, and conversions.
  • Payment Processing: Facilitate secure and seamless transactions for ad placements and revenue collection.
  • User Authentication: Implement secure user authentication protocols to protect user accounts and sensitive data.
  • Notifications: Implement push notifications to keep users informed about campaign updates, performance alerts, and important events.

Hiring the Team for Ongoing Maintenance: After the app was launched, the client chose to hire developers for maintenance and support within our office. The key condition was — a dedicated team exclusively focused on their product. Following discussions about budget constraints and specific candidate skill requirements, we conducted a thorough research process and provided the client with the initial CVs. The hiring process took 3 weeks, during which we interviewed more than 40 candidates and chose two best iOS and Android developers. These developers have been working on the project for over 2 years now.
